The Health Secretary, Matt Hancock, has announced the new NHS Test and Trace App ('the App’) which is set to be launched in the UK on Thursday 24 September, available to people aged sixteen and over. Students and teachers can download the App to their smart phone, and use it to book a test if they have COVID-19 symptoms. Using the App will capture results, and help us to monitor the spread of the virus, and take appropriate action. The App is a key part of the country’s ongoing COVID-19 response, aiming to extend the speed, precision and reach of NHS Test and Trace.

Please take some time to get used to the App and learn about its features, including the use of the ‘Check-in’ facility which you can make use of if your institution operates commercial training environments such as hairdressing, beauty salons, sports and fitness facilities or restaurants.  Further guidance on the App to support its use in education settings will be provided.
